Earlier this week, we learned when College Football 25 will be released.
And now we know what it will look like.
On Friday, EA Sports released its first gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated game, which will mark the first installment of its college football franchise in 11 years. Set to Guns N Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle — which morphs into a marching band version of the song — the one-minute and 51-second-long trailer features several teams going through pregame rituals before launching into a highlight reel of the first new college football video game footage in more than a decade.
The release of the trailer comes one day after EA Sports announced that College Football 25 will be released on July 19.
Once one of EA Sports’ most popular titles, the video game manufacturer discontinued its college football franchise following 2013’s NCAA Football 14 as a result of Ed O’Bannon’s lawsuit against the NCAA. College athletes now having the ability to profit off of their name, image and likeness (NIL), however, has opened the door for the return of the franchise, as well as for real players to be included in the game, with Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Michigan’s Donovan Edwards and Texas’ Quinn Ewers serving as this year’s cover athletes.
Now that we have a release date, gameplay trailer and most of the details regarding the return of the game, all that’s left for college football fans to do is wait. As of Friday, we only have 63 days to go until College Football 25‘s highly anticipated release — and just 60 days if you buy the deluxe edition with early access — not that anybody is currently keeping track.
