The Bishop Sycamore stories keep rolling in, and they’re not making the football program (whatever it really is) look any better. In the latest news involving the hard-to-believe saga, Bishop Sycamore has been accused of stiffing the hotel they stayed at for their nationally televised blowout loss to IMG (the game that made many — including ESPN announcers — realize something isn’t right).
According to Canton, Ohio police reports obtained by The Repository, the Bishop Sycamore team stayed at a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott on Friday and Saturday. The Fairfield Inn hotel management claims that Bishop Sycamore rented 25 rooms, and wrote two invalid checks totaling $3,596.
Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren confirmed Wednesday that hotel management reported the team stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Canton South, 4025 Greentree Ave. SW, on Friday and Saturday, renting 25 rooms.
According to police reports, the hotel reported two invalid checks totaling $3,596. Garren said they were written on an account listed to Education Resources Group of New York, New York.
Additionally, the hotel reported cleaning fees of $250 apiece for three of the rooms that Bishop Sycamore stayed in.
Canton police told The Repository that nobody has been charged, but an investigation is ongoing and there are two suspects.
No one has been charged, but Garren said detectives are investigating and they listed two suspects. Police reports indicate the investigation involves “passing bad checks” or forgery.
These Bishop Sycamore stories continue to sound so similar, and not in a good way.
