In today’s Mets update, they lost to the Cubs 5-3 at Wrigley Field. After, manager Mickey Callaway verbally attacked Newsday reporter Tim Healey over basic questions.
Mickey Callaway told one of the beat reporters they won’t use Edwin Díaz for five outs “just because you think so.”
This is a manager that doesn’t adjust and talks to reporters like they know absolutely nothing.

Then things got worse:
Incident started with Mickey Callaway cursing out Healey for being an antagonist.

Callaway told the public relations staff to “Get this motherf—-er” out of the clubhouse and when Healey didn’t leave, Vargas got into a stare down with him. Words were exchanged and Vargas had to be restrained from him.

Vargas then got into a shouting match with the reporter, over a staredown, and said at one point: "Ill knock you the f*** out, bro."
He charged such reporter and had to held back by Gomez and Syndergaard.

Totally normal stuff for the Mets! It takes a lot to top James Dolan to be the sports team in New York most hostile to the media, but the Mets definitely managed to do it today.

The organization has reached out and apologized to this reporter and will have further discussions internally with all involved parties.”
