When it comes to print media, the editors and spellcheckers have some of the most important jobs there are. Because if there’s an error or misidentification or snafu of some kind, there isn’t a delete key that can make it all go away or some of the other luxuries that we have in digital media.
So you have to feel for the Brandon Sun from Manitoba and the fact that they printed this headline to go along with a wire story about former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez hanging himself in his own prison cell. The paper confused him with legendary Mets star and current broadcaster Keith Hernandez.
Eep. Thankfully Keith Hernandez is just fine. And Doug’s golf outing is getting thousands of dollars in free exposure thanks to this going viral.
