During Sunday Night Football, Al Michaels announced that NBC will be flexing in a game with playoff implications. NBC’s Week 15 game will have the Buffalo Bills facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, two teams who are currently occupying the AFC Wild Card spots.
Bills-Steelers will replace the Minnesota Vikings-Los Angeles Chargers game and that’s a no-brainer decision. Not only will NBC be avoiding an 8-3 Vikings team against a 4-8 Chargers team inside a soccer stadium, but NBC now has a game with playoff implications and have access to a bigger fanbase in the Steelers.
Despite being completely depleted in personnel, the Steelers are staying strong with a 7-5 record and this game will be their sixth of the season in prime time. The 9-3 Bills have been largely overlooked this yeah and other than a Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys, the Bills haven’t had a national broadcast game this season. This Week 15 matchup in prime time will be an opportunity for the Bills to show the country what they’re capable of as the playoffs get closer and closer.
