The Nashville Predators are in their first Stanley Cup Final in franchise history, and head coach Peter Laviolette gave a speech to get his team pumped up for Game 1 against the Penguins on Monday night in Pittsburgh.
Well, included in Laviolette’s speech was an f-bomb that slipped right by the NBC broadcast for us all to hear:
“Game 1 is up for grabs. It’s up to us to fuckin’ take it.”
NBC play-by-play man Mike Emrick addressed the f-bomb after a commercial break with just over 14 minutes left in the first period. Doc said that he didn’t notice the f-bomb when the speech aired, or else he would’ve apologized right after that on the broadcast:
Emrick is obviously getting ready to call a his biggest game of the season instead of paying close attention to every single word a coach says in a locker room speech. So it’s very easy to understand how why he didn’t notice the f-bomb and apologized later on.
But it’s a pretty rough mishap by the NBC production crew to not bleep the f-bomb out, and quite a way to start their coverage of the Stanley Cup Final!
They may want to just keep the cameras away from Laviolette the rest of the game, as the Penguins currently have a 3-0 lead in the first period.
