Out of all the acknowledgments one could get from Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, having the legendary coach recognize you by sponsoring a cheeseburger bar has got to be one of the best.
That’s exactly what Coach Reid did for retiring Chiefs beat writer Adam Teicher on Thursday. After a nice exchange between Reid and Teicher during the coach’s press conference ahead of a Divisional Round matchup with the Houston Texans, Reid presented the retiring beat writer with a ball and announced the media would be treated to a cheeseburger bar on his behalf.

If there’s one thing that Andy Reid knows how to do other than coach football, it’s putting together a bangin’ cheeseburger bar.
But in all seriousness, the gesture was incredibly kind for a writer who dedicated 32 years of his career to covering the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s always fun to see recognition for someone in sports media from the team they cover. Those relationships can oftentimes become adversarial, especially when things aren’t going well for the team.
Luckily for Teicher, there hasn’t been much negativity to cover on the field in the Chiefs organization over the last several years. So he probably hasn’t had to lob too many tough questions Reid’s way.
Still, if anyone deserves an Andy Reid-sponsored burger bar, it’s someone who has spent three decades covering the team. Congrats to Adam Teicher!
