Football fans will need yet another streaming service to watch a prime-time NFL game in 2024.
With the NFL schedule release on Wednesday, it was revealed that the Arizona Cardinals will host the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season on Oct. 21. That game will be available exclusively on ESPN+.
It is worth noting, however, that while this is a Monday Night Football game, it’s not a standalone game as most MNF games are. Two games will air that Monday night on staggered starts. The Cardinals and Chargers will be the second game, kicking off at 9 p.m. Eastern. The Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get going 45 minutes earlier at 8:15 — a game that will air on ESPN.
ESPN+ is no stranger to covering live sporting events. Most of the exclusive ESPN+ events, though, have been lower in profile, at least to the American audience. Monday Night Football is a significant deviation from that. While ESPN+ has long covered Monday Night Football games, it’s always been a streaming option in addition to the main broadcast. This is the first exclusive.
The addition of ESPN+ to the rotation means that NFL games will be carried exclusively on four different streaming services — ESPN+, Netflix, Peacock and Amazon Prime — during the 2024 season.
