Whether you love or hate them, the Kansas City Chiefs have become one of the most influential teams in sports due to their recent string of success.

Ahead of their attempt to achieve history as the only team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, the franchise announced a new venture to help them further branch out into the entertainment industry.

According to Alex Werpin of The Hollywood Reporter, the Chiefs are launching a new production company ahead of Super Bowl LIX called Foolish Club Studios, a name dedicated to the team and American Football League founder Lamar Hunt.

“Foolish Club Studios is a tribute to my father in so many ways,” said Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt in a statement retrieved by Werpin. “My father constantly pushed boundaries and inspired innovative thinking, and that is exactly the ethos we expect this new studio to embrace as we expand our ambitions in storytelling and continue to make the game more accessible to our fans.”

Werpin added that Foolish Club Studios will “develop scripted and unscripted content for both short-form and long-form platforms”

The organization does have some experience producing non-football-related content. As Werpin noted, the Chiefs collaborated last year with Hallmark on the film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story

Given that the organization has many charismatic, uber-popular stars like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at their disposal, the possibilities sure seem endless as to what kinds of content can be made.
