Detroit Lions second-year cornerback Terrion Arnold is looking to take a significant leap on the field after a promising rookie season. And off the field, Arnold will also be increasing his exposure thanks to a new project he will take part in alongside fellow former Alabama cornerback, Patrick Surtain II.
Arnold still has a long way to go to reach the reputation that Surtain II has received as one of the best cornerbacks in all of football. But Arnold remains quite confident that he will soon make that leap.
Perhaps he will learn some of Surtain’s tricks at the position during their new venture together. During an appearance on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams on Monday, Arnold revealed how he would like Adams to join a new podcast he will be hosting alongside Surtain this coming season.
“I want you to be on my podcast,” Arnold said to Adams. “I want you to be on my podcast that I’ve got coming out. Me and Pat Surtain have a podcast coming out together. Some people worked out the logistics of it. They are trying to name it Bama Boys, but I don’t like that.”
Arnold and Surtain barely missed playing alongside one another at Alabama, with Surtain leaving for the NFL after the 2020 season and Arnold joining the Alabama program in 2021. But Arnold, in particular, has been quite complimentary of Surtain, explaining how he wanted to play alongside Surtain at the NFL level prior to the 2024 NFL Draft and regularly watched his film to improve his own game.
It’s unclear at this point what network the new podcast will be hosted on, or whether it is an independent venture from the two. But given how both Arnold and Surtain have a built-in fanbase from the incredibly loyal Alabama football fanbase, to go along with their fans at the professional level, the two should certainly have no shortage of an audience whenever their podcast does ultimately debut.
