Not everyone is sick of the Kansas City Chiefs. And if you’re ‘Chief’d out,’ you shouldn’t complain to Tracy Wolfson.
The NFL on CBS sideline reporter feels for Josh Allen not only because they have a professional relationship with one another, even hugging after the AFC Divisional Round, but because he’s become so tortured in his plights against Patrick Mahomes.
At the same time, Wolfson also has a relationship with the Chiefs and Mahomes, being part of the network’s A-team, which has uplifted a franchise one win away from a three-peat.
Wolfson, of course, has experienced this before. Along for the ride with Jim Nantz and then-Phil Simms, she was also there every step of the way when Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots reigned supreme over the NFL.
But now, it’s the Chiefs’ turn.
And it’s also their turn to deal with all the hate that comes with being a modern-day dynasty.
Wolfson isn’t standing for it, though.
“I feel for Josh Allen and the Bills but also don’t enjoy hearing all the hate on the Chiefs,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) following the AFC Championship. “I witnessed Brady and the Pats dominance first hand and what KC is doing feels just like that. Let’s take a moment and appreciate what Mahomes and the Chiefs have accomplished.”
And look, it’s understandable if you can’t appreciate what the Chiefs are doing — trust me, as a New York Jets fan, I felt the same way about the Patriots.
All Tracy Wolfson is asking for is some perspective.
Not holding hands and signing ‘Kumbaya,’ but a little appreciation for what Mahomes and the Chiefs are doing — the same kind of dominance Brady and the Patriots put on display just a few years prior.
