On Wednesday, the NFL and X announced the launch of the NFL Top 100 digital series.
This “digitally reimagined version of the NFL Films countdown franchise” will include 100 episodes, each running from three to five minutes, highlighting the league’s top 100 players as voted on by current players. Rankings are based on an off-season poll organized by the NFL, where players vote on their peers based on their performance in the most recent NFL season.
Episodes will debut weekdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET on X and NFL+ beginning June 30 and running through Friday, Aug. 29. Every weekday, there will be two new player reveals. The top 10 will be announced on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
“For 14 seasons, NFL Top 100 has delivered the ultimate peer-ranked countdown in sports,” said Ross Ketover, NFL Films senior executive. “This year, we’re bringing it to where fans already are — on X — with a fast-paced format that honors the original series.”
NFL Top 100 joins other recent sports programming on X, including the All In: Boston Celtics documentary and The Offseason women’s soccer series. A video podcast hosted by Venus and Serena Williams will debut on X later this summer.
“Delivering Original content experiences with world-class partners, especially around sports, is a top priority for X,” said Mitchell Smith, head of original content at X. “We are excited to work with the NFL and NFL Films to launch our first original series together, and reinvent a classic for a digital-first audience.”
