Front Office Sports is launching a new live event designed to highlight former sports stars entering their second acts.
The sports business outlet announced it will be holding three live shows beginning this fall hosted by former WNBA All-Star and current ESPN basketball analyst Chiney Ogwumike. Each stop will feature a former sports star that has moved onto their second act, hence the name “Second Acts Live.”
Seattle is slated to hold the first show in September and feature WNBA legend Sue Bird discussing her second career in media. Subsequent dates will see former NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski in Philadelphia talking about his move to become the general manager of St. Bonaventure’s men’s basketball team, and former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Michael Vick taking the stage in Atlanta to discuss his recent move to head coach of Norfolk State University. Shows in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles are planned for 2026.
“’Second Acts Live’ brings the craft of theater into the world of sports storytelling, creating an original experience for audiences and superfans across the country,” Tre’ Scott, co-founder of Folk Productions, which is partnering with FOS on the project, told Variety. “We are not just producing a live show with Front Office Sports, we are launching a brand new platform for sports stories within live entertainment.”
“At FOS, we’re committed to bringing innovative, meaningful content and experiences to our audience, and ‘Second Acts Live’ is an exciting addition to our expanding roster of shows and live events,” Front Office Sports CEO Adam White told Variety.
There’s an unmistakable sports media flare to each of the first three shows, with each guest having held prominent on-air television roles at large networks. With at least three additional shows planned for 2026, it’ll be interesting to see if that trend continues.
