In what marked her first comments since her departure from Fox Sports, Joy Taylor teased that a future in media might not be for her.
But whatever Taylor is doing next, it appears we’ll find out soon, as the former Speak host shared during a recent appearance on the Let Her Shoot podcast that she has some impending announcements regarding her career.
“I’ll have a lot of announcements coming up,” she said. “There is motion. As far as everything that happened, that’s the business, and nothing is forever, and all these clichés, but that is what it is. I’m sure I will have a lot more to say as the years go on. But I’m grateful to have had nine years on a network and I think I do great work with great talent and great staffs and great producers. And the next chapter will be equally as exciting. When I have news, I will let everyone know.”
Taylor also stated that her upcoming announcements could catch people off guard.
“I’m not limiting myself… I’ve worked with a bunch of different people over the years, people I never thought that I would end up partnering up with. And you know, platforms have their reputations — but I guess so do I,” she joked. “I might surprise people with what the next move is.”
Reading between the lines, it sure doesn’t sound like Taylor will make good on her previously stated desire to potentially leave media, which even she admitted may have mostly been spurred by the raw feelings of her Fox exit. While her reputation may have taken a hit as a result of the Fox Sports workplace misconduct lawsuit she was named as a defendant in, she’s also never been more famous than she is now, as The Ringer’s Van Lathan pointed out during her appearance on Higher Learning last week.
At this point, Taylor hasn’t provided any clues as to where she might land. It does, however, appear that Gilbert Arenas’ ongoing recruitment of her may have just hit a snag.
