The Kawhi Leonard episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out sent shockwaves through the basketball world. And the fun could just be beginning.

The podcast revealed a deep dive into Leonard receiving tens of millions of dollars in sponsorship money from a company called Aspiration, even though the Los Angeles Clippers superstar never did any work for them. It’s led to the question of whether or not Clippers owner and tech billionaire Steve Ballmer may have circumvented the NBA salary cap for funneling his own money through the company to Leonard.

In the wake of the podcast, Torre debated Mark Cuban, Ballmer went to SportsCenter to say that he was the victim, and the NBA is already investigating the situation with commissioner Adam Silver even commenting on the situation.

In the midst of the ongoing conversation, Torre has maintained superior confidence in his reporting, and even teased looking at other NBA contracts like Jalen Brunson’s team-friendly deal with the New York Knicks. Perhaps that is because he knows there is more to come.

On his Basketball Illuminati podcast with Tom Haberstroh and Anthony Mayes, former NBA executive and current media personality Amin Elhassan (who appeared on the episode with Torre and David Samson) teased that there is a sequel that has already been recorded and will drop soon.

“I think we just drop Back to the Future Part II. There’s a sequel. There’s a sequel dropping and I’m not permitted to talk about anything that happened,” Elhassan said. “The mere existence of a sequel episode, I’ve already revealed too much.”

A sequel to the already monumental PTFO episode examining the Kawhi Leonard situation could be even more impactful than the original given we now have comments from Steve Ballmer on the record and even a report about Leonard’s wild list of demands from the Toronto Raptors.

What could a sequel cover? It could be answering the public response from Ballmer with even more documents and information from Aspiration. It could be other items related to Leonard and his free agency pursuit. It could be other suspicious NBA salary cap dealings from the wild west of unregulated sponsorship deals. It could be anything – maybe it’s somehow related to whether Michael Jordan was really suspended for two seasons by David Stern for gambling.

When asked by Awful Announcing about a potential podcast sequel to the Kawhi Leonard episode and what content it would cover, Pablo Torre responded with a grimacing face emoji as his official comment. What can you say, the man knows how to promote his podcast.
