If you’re subscribed to ESPN+ or SiriusXM, you may be in luck.

On Tuesday, ESPN and SiriusXM announced a partnership that will allow customers who subscribe to either ESPN+ or SiriusXM to receive the other service at no additional charge for six months.

As always with these sorts of announcements, there are a few catches. For one, the offer will only apply to SiriusXM subscribers in the Platinum VIP tier, at least for now. Per the release, the company plans to expand to additional tiers next month.

And for ESPN+ subscribers, don’t expect to be able to access SiriusXM in your car. The offer is only good for SiriusXM’s streaming-only service.

Nevertheless, the partnership is likely to be of use for some customers who are only subscribed to one service or the other. Per the release, “details on how to claim this offer will be shared directly to customers who receive marketing emails for their respective subscriptions.”

There is certainly overlap in each company’s subscriber base. SiriusXM has long targeted sports fans with its wide range of live pro and college sports offerings, along with sports-focused channels like Mad Dog Sports Radio. Of course, ESPN+ is a service for the sports aficionado, with extensive live sports programming from football and basketball to golf and tennis.

For that reason, the partnership makes sense. Six months of a free subscription is a small price to pay if you’re able to convert someone to a paying customer long-term.
