Sunday’s Conference Championship Games on CBS and Fox, respectively, brought two different halftime shows. And the always opinionated radio host Chris Russo didn’t exactly love either. But he especially shared his discontent with Fox’s halftime show.
On Monday’s edition of Mad Dog Unleashed, Russo expressed his grievances about Sunday’s halftime shows. He called Fox’s production a “complete disaster.”
“I’ll tell ya, these halftimes are a complete waste of time,” said Russo in a video shared by Jimmy Traina on X. “I’ll get to that a little later on, too. Boy, if you’re sitting there watching the halftime, go do some pushups or something. I mean, these halftimes everywhere you go are a complete utter waste of time. Fox’s halftime is a joke. You can’t even watch it. It is a complete disaster.”
Russo is far from the only critic of the Fox studio this season. As the longstanding cast gets older, an increased microscope has been placed on Terry Bradshaw in particular, who has had several moments to forget throughout the season, including forgetting that Rob Gronkowski was part of Fox NFL Sunday and stumbling through highlights on multiple occasions.
While some appreciate the longstanding continuity of the cast and believe that their familiarity with audiences at home is a positive for Fox, there are just as many who may believe that it may be time for a significant change at Fox.
It’s not hard to see where Russo stands on this topic.
However, it seems like Russo may have an issue with halftime shows operating entirely across all networks.
Unfortunately for Russo, he will have to deal with the Fox studio team again this season, as Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will air on Fox.
From the sound of it, though, Russo will likely do something else during the Fox Super Bowl halftime show.
