ESPN may not name ‘Around the Horn’ replacement until Fall 2026
"We've got some time. SportsCenter is doing well."
"We've got some time. SportsCenter is doing well."
Scott Van Pelt is reportedly in contention to move to the old Around the Horn timeslot and move away from the late-night SportsCenter.
After almost a year, ESPN is exploring its options at 5 o'clock to replace 'Around the Horn.'
"We want to make sure that whatever we choose is there for the long haul..."
"To have those things written about you, I recognize they weren't coming from nowhere. Somebody was feeding this."
As sports TV moves away from reporters, Jemele Hill points out why Brian Windhorst still matters.
As expected, the show's finale saw higher than usual tune in.
"Around the Horn knew me when."
"I think Max has conveyed enough for me to say he wanted this show to go forward in the way it did."
"It will be at least several months before ESPN develops a new concept."
"Around the Horn is probably the single most helpful thing I did [for my television career]."
Tony Reali is going the independent route... for now.
"The debate goes on now without us. But you pick up where we left off."
"We could not have asked for a better partner program. ATH built up an audience and handed it off to us, so we could hit the ground running every weeknight."
"I would not have [said] that again if you gave me another chance."
"All that time and energy spent on hating women could’ve been spent on finding a better platform to host your weak ass website..."
"We're talking about endurance. We're talking about expert analytical argument. We're talking about the will to do what the other people won't, in a sports debate."
The news comes one month after Sharpe took a hiatus from ESPN following allegations of sexual assault.
"I'm admittedly biased, but this is progressive voices and people of color you’re taking off TV."
Reali's ESPN contract expires this summer, and his efforts to stay in Bristol haven’t gained traction.
"I'm a 'we'll change their mind' type of guy."
