Former Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman says ‘90%’ of people he meets want him back in booth
"If I’m in the grocery or getting a cup of coffee at the local convenient shop, 99% of those I bump into, I’ll hear, ‘We wish you were back, we miss you!'"
"If I’m in the grocery or getting a cup of coffee at the local convenient shop, 99% of those I bump into, I’ll hear, ‘We wish you were back, we miss you!'"
"Here we are coming full circle getting back out to high school sports again. And I'm excited. Thank you!"
We've heard "There's a drive into deep left-center field..." previously during a serious monologue.
"The mid-apology play-by-play, ESPN’s Pablo Torre says, 'was like listening to the band play on as the Titanic was sinking. Except the band was also somehow the iceberg.'"
Less than four months after his final Reds' broadcast got him in hot water, Thom Brennaman has a new play-by-play job.
The resignation comes over a month after Brennaman was suspended for use of a homophobic slur during a broadcast.
“I have never used that word (before) in my life,” Brennaman continues to insist.
The Brennaman name has been stained forever in Cincinnati.
Thom Brennaman apologized in multiple outlets for uttering a homophobic slur, but those apologies leave some questions.
Brennaman gave an apology and then signed off but also managed to call a home run mid apology.
A mourning dove, to be specific.
