A year and a half ago, Adam Lefkoe’s WrestleCast took the world by storm. This week, things have been taken to a whole new level. NBA D-League broadcaster RJ Choppy of the Texas Legends loaded up his call of a Legends-Santa Cruz Warriors game with an unhealthy amount of wrestling catchphrases.
Let’s count the references…
-“Ayatalloh of block & rollah”
-“It doesn’t matter what you think!”
-“Runnin wild”
-“What?”
-“What a rush!”
-“To be the best joke teller, you’ve gotta beat the best joke teller”
-“YES! YES! YES!”
In order, that’s Chris Jericho, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom, Ric Flair, and Daniel Bryan.
Some of the lines were forced, and some actually flowed pretty nicely. I guess Choppy is trying to get some more attention on a national scale. Hey, it worked for Lefkoe – he now works for Bleacher Report.
