Bill Walton is one of our favorite announcers here at Awful Announcing, so it came as a shock when we came across this story today. Some Arizona fan started an internet petition to get Bill Walton off calling Wildcats games. And almost 1,000 people have signed it. What is wrong with you people!
Bill Walton is the worst commentator to ever announce University of Arizona basketball games. Die-hard fans across the nation mute their televisions to avoid constant inane “Waltonisms,” as documented at www.billwalton.com/walton-quotes. Please help me make Arizona basketball watchable again by keeping Walton away.
Walton may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but come on Arizona fans! Would you rather have Generic Basketball Analyst A call your Pac 12 games or the basketball legend who has a tepee in his own backyard. How could you not love a basketball analyst that does this?
This is just a sad day for America! It’s an absolute tragedy of justice! This is the worst petition in the history of Western civilization! Bill Walton’s basketball analysis and life thoughts will change your life for the better!
A Phil Simms petition I can understand… but Bill Walton? A man who gave us such gems as comparing Tyreke Evans to Steve Jobs and Einstein? Get a grip Arizona fans and have a sense of humor. Embrace Bill Walton and you just might discover your own personal enlightenment.
