As she preps for a return to the WNBA court this spring, Stanford alum and Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink is launching a podcast with Wave Sports + Entertainment.
Brink will be the latest WNBA star to hitch her wagon to the athlete-hosted podcast boom and the explosive growth of women’s basketball, launching Straight to Cam with cohost Sydel Curry-Lee on Jan. 28.
“Shoutout to the WNBA and Unrivaled, yes we’ll talk some NBA too,” Brink said in a trailer announcing the show. “Maybe some DMs, maybe some dating stories, and we’ll have our friends and family on as guests.”
The Brinks and the Currys are longtime family friends, making Sydel (Steph’s sister) a logical match as cohost. Curry-Lee is also a content creator and influencer in her own right and will likely bring her audience to Brink’s show.
As for Brink, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, tore her ACL shortly into her rookie season after a legendary career in Palo Alto. So, although Brink was out of sight for many basketball fans last year, she continues to be among its most popular players. Brink recently invested in Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league based in Miami, and is slated to play for the league in 2026.
Despite the explosion of athlete-hosted podcasts in recent years, Brink and Angel Reese are the only top stars in the league to host their own shows. Brink’s agency, CAA, continues to create opportunities for its athletes to get into digital media. Alongside Brink, CAA hoops stars like Paul George, Carmelo Anthony and Jalen Brunson have also gotten in on the fun in recent years.
Considering the attention that continues to follow the youngest generation of WNBA athletes, Straight to Cam is coming along at the right time.
