As has too often been the case in the world of sports media, Yahoo Sports has seen a few rounds of layoffs in recent years. Today, longtime Yahoo Sports editor Kevin Kaduk announced on Twitter that he’s been let go by the Verizon-owned company.
Kaduk had been with Yahoo Sports since 2008, and his accomplishments included the creation of Yahoo’s Big League Stew blog, a forerunner for sports verticals and a key component to Yahoo’s sports portfolio. Kaduk had been lead editor since 2013. The outpouring of support was immediate on Twitter.

There are many, many more like those. Hopefully wherever Kaduk goes next will have ownership more aware of how to capitalize on quality work, but given the overall landscape (hellscape?) right now, that’s certainly far from a given.
